2013 | Health Insurance Rate Review Forum: Loss Ratios

Hosted by Rutgers Center for State Health Policy with support provided by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance, through a grant from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. In Spring 2013, the Center held a Health Insurance Rate Review Forum: Loss Ratios on behalf of the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance. The forum included a discussion of the implications of differing federal and state medical loss ratio (MLR) formulas, an examination of the link between MLR calculations and premiums, and an overview of New Jersey's premium rate review process.
